The USA customer develops an in-ear EEG device and a sophisticated data platform that delivers neural insight. Using ML allows democratizing access to personalized neural insights supporting patient disease management for epilepsy, stroke, concussion, and other neural anomalies.

What We’re Looking For

5+ years experience in the industry
Experience deploying firmware on systems with wireless protocols (e.g. Bluetooth, BLE, LE Audio, etc.)
Proficient in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, and Embedded C
Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work in a collaborative team environment, and good communication skills
Experience in a healthcare technology or wearable device company
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
At least an Upper-Intermediate level of English for daily communication

Your Responsibilities

Develop, test, and optimize firmware for an in-ear device, focusing on ADC, sensor, and memory interfacing and efficient wireless communication
Collaborate with the hardware and software teams to ensure seamless integration of the firmware into the client platform
Write, maintain, and debug code ensuring adherence to our coding and security standards
Document and control source code, and work on firmware solutions design in conjunction with hardware engineers
Play an active role in every phase of the firmware development cycle adapting systems to meet rapidly changing business and user needs
Ensure system stability and reliability, troubleshooting firmware systems and components as needed

Will be a plus

Strong experience in Digital Signal Processing (DSP), particularly for audio applications
Experience with front-end/analog circuitry and interfaces
Familiarity with neural or biosensing technologies
Experience with ARM Cortex-based SoCs and associated compilers, debuggers, and common IDEs
Experience with designing synchronous and asynchronous serial protocols (i.e. I2C, SPI, UART, USB) and testing with oscilloscopes or logic analyzers
Proven experience in developing embedded systems and software for shipped consumer products
Experience with RTOS SDKs such as Zephyr, FreeRTOS, Mynewt
Demonstrated experience in wireless personal audio devices using codecs such as AAC, LDAC, aptX, SBC, or L3C
Experience with embedded signal processing and deployment of edge AI models (TinyML, TensorFlow Lite, etc.)
